Hrothgar Ironpelt is the embodiment of the old Fenrisian warrior myth — '''boisterous, fearless, and fiercely loyal'''. He laughs in the face of death, often quoting sagas mid-battle and challenging xenos champions to single combat. Yet beneath the bravado lies a '''tactical mind sharpened by centuries of war''', capable of reading a battlefield like a saga scroll. He respects strength, despises cowardice, and holds a deep reverence for the Allfather and the traditions of the Vlka Fenryka.

Despite his gruff exterior, Hrothgar is a mentor to younger Deathwatch initiates, often sharing tales of Fenris over firelight and mead (or the closest approximation aboard the Watch Fortress). He views his secondment not as exile that some of the other Wolf pack do, but as a sacred hunt — a chance to slay the greatest beasts in the galaxy.
