Brother-Librarian Eldrunar Dravik (Bloodmaws)

From Watch house Malfia

Bloodmaws Chapter – Currently Seconded to the Deathwatch

Personality

[edit | edit source]

Eldrunar Dravik carries the barely restrained ferocity typical of the Bloodmaws, but it simmers beneath a veneer of surprising introspection. Young by Astartes standards, he is still learning to balance the Chapter’s primal instincts with the discipline required of a Librarian. His emotions run hot. Anger, loyalty, pride... but he channels them with growing mastery into psychic force rather than reckless violence.

He is bold, direct, and unafraid to challenge assumptions, though never disrespectfully. Among Kill‑Teams, Eldrunar often becomes the spark that drives momentum: decisive in crisis, fearless in the face of the unknown, and willing to take risks others might hesitate to consider. His brothers describe him as “a storm held in a clenched fist”—dangerous if mishandled, but devastating when properly directed.

Despite his youth, he listens keenly to veterans, eager to refine his craft. He values strength, but he values control even more, knowing that a Bloodmaw without restraint is a weapon pointed at friend and foe alike.

Background

[edit | edit source]

Eldrunar was born into one of the Fenris nomadic hunter‑clans. His psychic potential manifested early, marked by uncanny instincts and visions that guided his clan through predator‑haunted tundra. When the Blood maws came to recruit, Eldrunar was taken as a candidate and quickly identified for Librarius training.

Within the Chapter, he learned to temper the Bloodmaws’ savage traditions with the discipline demanded of a psyker. His instructors noted his affinity for telepathic and rage‑focusing disciplines—abilities that allowed him to harness the Chapter’s battle‑fury without succumbing to it. Though still early in his service, Eldrunar distinguished himself in several campaigns against xenos threats, demonstrating both raw power and a willingness to adapt.

His secondment to the Deathwatch was recommended after a series of encounters with psychic‑capable enemies, where his instincts and aggression proved invaluable. The Watch saw potential in him: a young Librarian whose ferocity could be shaped into a potent weapon against the alien.

Notable Missions Prior to Joining the Deathwatch

[edit | edit source]

1. The Red Tundra Hunt – Vargoss Sub‑Sector

[edit | edit source]

A splinter of a Tyranid vanguard organism infiltrated the icy plains of the Vargoss sub‑sector, preying on isolated settlements.

  • Eldrunar led a Bloodmaws strike pack through blizzard conditions, using telepathic pulses to track the synaptic echoes of the creatures.
  • He unleashed a psychic shockwave that disrupted the brood’s coordination, allowing his brothers to tear through the disoriented xenos.
  • The final kill—an alpha‑beast adapted for cold environments—was achieved when Eldrunar pinned it psychically long enough for the pack to bring it down.

2. The Shattered Reliquary of Kurnos

[edit | edit source]

An Eldar raiding force targeted an ancient Imperial reliquary believed to house a dormant warp‑artifact.

  • Eldrunar sensed the artifact’s psychic resonance long before the Eldar arrived, enabling the Bloodmaws to intercept the strike.
  • During the battle, he engaged an Eldar Farseer in a brief but intense psychic duel, severing the xenos’ foresight advantage.
  • His intervention allowed the Bloodmaws to secure the relic and drive off the raiders with minimal losses.

3. The Gloomspire Rebellion – Hive World Xiang‑Luo

[edit | edit source]

A Genestealer Cult uprising erupted within the lower levels of Hive Secundus, threatening to topple the planetary government.

  • Eldrunar descended with a small Bloodmaws detachment, using telepathy to locate the cult’s hidden broodmind nodes.
  • He confronted the Magus directly, overwhelming its psychic influence and breaking the cult’s cohesion.
  • The subsequent purge was swift, and Eldrunar's actions prevented the uprising from spreading to the upper hive.
