Gideon Thorne (Angels of Absolution)

From Watch house Malfia

Personality

[edit | edit source]

Gideon Thorne is a model of calm resolve and doctrinal purity, shaped by the Angels of Absolution’s belief that their sins have been cleansed and their duty is now to uphold the Emperor’s will without shame. He is quiet, introspective, and fiercely loyal, often serving as the moral compass within his Kill Team. Unlike many of his Unforgiven cousins, Gideon does not dwell on ancient guilt — instead, he channels his energy into precise execution and unwavering discipline.

Though he rarely speaks of his Chapter’s divergence from the Dark Angels’ obsession with the Fallen, he holds firm to the belief that absolution has been earned, and that dwelling on past sins is a distraction from the Imperium’s survival.

Background

[edit | edit source]

Born on the recruiting world of Nachwald, Gideon was selected for the Angels of Absolution after surviving the Trials of the Soul’s Well — a brutal series of tests designed to forge warriors of purity and conviction. He rose through the ranks as a tactical marksman, favoring the standard bolt rifle and precision fire discipline over brute force.

His unwavering faith and battlefield composure earned him a place in the Deathwatch, where his Chapter’s unique philosophy often sets him apart from other Unforgiven successors. While others hunt the Fallen in secret, Gideon fights in the open, believing that redemption lies in service, not secrecy.

  • The Shardspire Skirmish: Fought alongside Dark Angels and Angels of Redemption, maintaining composure despite doctrinal tension over the Fallen.
