The Emperor’s Spears are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter from the 25th Founding, tasked with defending the remote and perilous region of Elara’s Veil. Descended from the Ultramarines, they are known for their tribal warrior culture, fierce independence, and relentless defense against the horrors of the Outer Dark.

Founded during the “Bastion Founding” in the 40th Millennium, the Emperor’s Spears hail from the oceanic feral world of Nemeton. Alongside the Celestial Lions and Star Scorpions, they once formed the Adeptus Vaelarii — guardians of Elara’s Veil. With the Star Scorpions lost to Chaos and the Celestial Lions crippled by Inquisitorial betrayal, the Spears now stand alone. Their society blends tribal mysticism with Astartes discipline, organizing into “Warhosts” rather than Codex-standard companies, and guided by warrior-priests known as Druids instead of traditional Chaplains or Librarians.

The Chapter specializes in orbital assaults and close-quarters combat, often deploying via Drop Pods into the heart of enemy territory. Their warriors fight with bursts of adrenal fury tempered by solemn dirges, reflecting their melancholic yet savage culture. Despite past conflicts with fellow Ultramarine successors — notably the Aurora Chapter — the Emperor’s Spears remain a vital bulwark on the Imperium’s frontier. Their future is uncertain, as they are increasingly isolated and embattled by the Chaos warhost known as the Exilarchy, led by the corrupted remnants of the Star Scorpions.
