The Brazen Claws are a Loyalist Space Marine Chapter of the Second Founding, descended from the Iron Hands. They are known for their stoicism, cybernetic augmentation, and relentless hatred of weakness — both in their enemies and themselves.

Founded from the Iron Hands’ 34th Clan Company after the Horus Heresy, the Brazen Claws inherited their progenitors’ belief that flesh is frail and must be replaced with machine. Their warriors undergo extensive cybernetic enhancement, beginning as Neophytes, to purge physical vulnerability. The Chapter’s homeworld, Talus IV, was destroyed by a Chaos incursion, forcing them to become fleet-based. In response, they launched a twenty-year Crusade of Vengeance into the Eye of Terror, battling Traitor Legions and Daemons. Though some companies were corrupted, the majority of the Chapter remained loyal and eventually withdrew, scarred but unbroken.

The Brazen Claws have participated in numerous campaigns, including the War of the Beast, the Ambush at Sarum, and the 13th Black Crusade. Their combat style is defined by unyielding aggression, siege warfare, and a refusal to retreat. Chapter Master Caul Engentre, a veteran of four centuries, led the Chapter through its darkest trials and remains a symbol of their resilience.
