The Space Wolves are one of the original First Founding Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes, created during the Great Crusade and led by their legendary Primarch, Leman Russ. Known as the VI Legion, they were forged to be the Emperor’s executioners—warriors of unmatched ferocity and loyalty. Their homeworld, Fenris, is a death world of icy oceans and volcanic islands, where survival demands strength, cunning, and resilience. These traits are deeply embedded in the Chapter’s culture, which blends martial discipline with tribal traditions and a fierce warrior ethos. Unlike most Space Marine Chapters, the Space Wolves reject the rigid structure of the Codex Astartes, favoring a more instinctive and saga-driven approach to warfare. Their organization is built around Great Companies, each led by a Wolf Lord and operating with considerable autonomy. The Chapter is renowned for its close combat prowess, wolf-themed iconography, and unique units such as Blood Claws, Grey Hunters, and Long Fangs. Their warriors often fight with a blend of berserker fury and tactical brilliance, making them unpredictable and devastating on the battlefield. Despite their savage reputation, the Space Wolves are deeply honorable and fiercely protective of humanity. They maintain strong bonds with their Fenrisian roots, often invoking ancient rites, oaths, and sagas before battle. Their fortress-monastery, The Fang, stands as a towering citadel carved into the mountains of Fenris, housing relics, warriors, and the legacy of Leman Russ himself. Though their methods may seem wild to outsiders, the Space Wolves remain one of the Imperium’s most loyal and effective defenders, feared by enemies and revered by allies. Within the Space Wolves, there are Great Companies, each with it's own personality and tactical disciplines === The Blackmanes === The Blackmanes are one of the Great Companies of the Space Wolves Chapter, led by the renowned Wolf Lord Ragnar Blackmane. Known for their aggressive tactics and relentless pursuit of glory, the Blackmanes embody the fiery spirit of Fenris with a strong emphasis on swift assaults and close-quarters combat. Ragnar’s leadership has shaped the company into a force of bold warriors who favor speed, precision, and overwhelming fury. Whether deployed in planetary strikes or kill-team operations, the Blackmanes are famed for their courage, camaraderie, and the thunderous charge that often signals the doom of their enemies [[Category:Adeptus Astartes]] [[Category:Chapter]] [[Category:First Founding]]
